CONGRATULATIONS to Professor Peng WU on Receiving the 2020 Horace S. Isbell award!

Professor Peng Wu, Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Medicine at The Scripps Research Institute, has received the 2020 Horace S. Isbell Award for excellence in and promise of continued quality of contribution to research in carbohydrate chemistry. Prof. Wu obtained his B.S. at Peking University, and his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the Scripps Research Institute under the direction of Prof. K. Barry Sharpless. From 2005-2008 he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at U.C. Berkeley under the Direction of Carolyn Bertozzi.

In 2008 he joined the Department of Biochemistry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he was promoted to Associate Professor. In 2015 he joined TSRI. Prof. Wu’s research focuses on using metabolic engineering to study the role of protein glycosylation in human disease. He has authored over 60 publications, and is a previous recipient of the David Y. Gin New Investigator Award from the CARB division (2013).
