2021 Wolfrom Award Winner

Professor Eriks Rozners, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Chemistry at Binghamton University, has received the 2021 Melville L. Wolfrom award.

Professor Rozners pursued his undergraduate degree and PhD at Latvia’s Riga Technical University before pursuing postdoctoral work at Stockholm University and Karolinska Institute in Sweden followed by University of Wisconsin, Madison and University of Michigan. He began his independent career as an Assistant Professor at Northeastern University in 2001, then moved to Binghamton University in 2008, where he is Chairman of the Department of Chemistry.  Professor Rozners’ research interests focus on using synthetic organic chemistry to explore and modulate the structure and function of biologically significant RNA molecules, with the development of carbohydrate chemistry for RNA interference.
