CONGRATULATIONS TO Professor Wen Yi on Receiving the 2024 Horace S. Isbell Award!
Professor Wen Yi is the recipient of the 2024 Horace S. Isbell Award for Excellence in and promise of continued quality contribution to research in carbohydrate chemistry.
Dr. Wen Yi is currently Professor of Biochemistry at the College of Life Sciences of Zhejiang University. He received his bachelor’s degree in polymer science at Fudan University in 2002. He carried out the doctoral study and received his Ph.D. degree at the Ohio State University under Prof. Peng G. Wang in 2008. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology with Prof. Linda C. Hsieh-Wilson, before joining Zhejiang University as an independent investigator in 2013. Prof. Yi’s research focuses on developing chemical/biochemical tools to probe the spatiotemporal dynamics of glycosylation and elucidating the function of glycosylation in human health and diseases. His work has been recognized with several awards, including International Glycoconjugate Organization (IGO) Young Glycoscientist Award (2013), “Zhang Shuzheng” Young Glycoscientist Award from the Chinese Bioengineering Society (2021), Young Innovator’s Award from the “Hui Yongzheng” Glycoscience Foundation (2022), and National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2023).
